Inspired Unreality, now on a twice a month schedule, will be held at 11:00 AM Central, on Saturday, October 1. Since it's the first Saturday of the month our topic will be fantasy and science fiction.

It's a big topic and one we love to talk about. If you're into novels, short stories, movies, television series, or games, if it's fantasy and science fiction it's on topic. Let us know what you think about the new stuff or the old stuff. For more info and a link go here.

Thanks Marty, today we're hearing one of my jazz pieces recorded live at the Craighead Forest Bandshell.

NJHB is a different kind of jazz band without established personnel or repertoire. As usual when we played at the Craighead Forest Bandshell on June 2, 2013, it was the first and only time we played with this group of musicians.

So for this show we had Matt Jackson - bass, Mike "Zif" Lovell - guitar, Suzanne Michell - vocals, drums, and percussion, Carl Holden - guitar, Jay Shepherd - guitar, "Shugga" Shane Chastain - Roland Fantom, Addison Boling - drums, and Hairy Larry - Fender Rhodes, vocals, percussion, and dancing.

As always, changes are afoot.

When we started doing Inspired Unreality open game chat every week we were younger. And yet, somehow, even though we're retired, we now have more responsibilities. So we're going to have to scale back.

Instead of weekly we are moving to twice a month. On the first Saturday we will discuss fantasy and science fiction. On the third Saturday we will continue questing in Milyagon or Tobbins Shire.

So, tomorrow is the third Saturday and we will be questing. Please join us to play or just stop on by to say hi and chat for a few minutes. We're always glad to hear from you.

I finished "Gideon The Ninth" and while I'm waiting for "Harrow The Ninth" I'm reading "The House In The Cerulean Sea" by TJ Klune. Megan recommended it and she also recommended a beautifully written book, "This Is How You Lose The Time War" by Amal El-Mohtar. She's reading it with the Eclectic Geekery fantasy/sf book club.

We had family game last Saturday with DM Carl, Courtney, Emily, Connor, Hairy Larry, and Vivian. I was having too much fun gaming with my grandkids to follow Vivian's lead into a much more creative ending. She was Clair the Cleric and she was converting the Spider Monsters. But we killed them first.

Not really my style. I find dice marathon combat boring but like I said I was right in there with the rest of the fighters. I do have to say the spiders had kidnapped the farmers son. They weren't really good spiders. But I need to pay closer attention to Vivian's lead. She comes up with the best stuff.
