Open game chat tonight on Inspired Unreality. Our opening topic will be NPCs. Just how much agency should the DM give to NPCs? Should they only be minions or more like PCs with the DM acting out their roles? Or should the DM go even further with NPCs solving puzzles that have stymied the party or even fighting their fights for them? I'm more of the have the NPC give a hint every now and then but I am open minded about this. Should the NPC add a bit of color or should they dominate the narrative if necessary in the eyes of the DM? What's your take?

Now that’s what I’m talking about. We heard Dave Riley sing the John Weston song, “I’m Not Your Junkman”. Then Kid Ramos did “No More Doggin” and Henry Gray sang the title song of his new album with Bob Corritore, “Cold Chills”.

All of these artists are featured on Bob’s new From The Vaults releases. So here’s a big shout out to Bob Corritore, blowing harp on almost every song we’re hearing tonight.

Little did I know that next year would be 2020. We heard Delta Legends recorded live at the King Biscuit Blues Festival, October 11, 2019. John Shepherd, Jeremy Burnett, and I played “All Over Again”. Then we did “Baby What You Want Me To Do” with guest harmonica players, Tim Hoggard and Larry Lacewell. On “Big Boss Man” Rhode Island Red sang, Pinky Lee played tambourine, and Bob Corritore was our guest star on harp. Things like that happen at The Biscuit.

On May 23, 2010, 3MG played a Journey song, “When The Lights Go Down in The City”, at the Craighead Forest Bandshell. With Shugga Shane Chastain, keyboards and vocals; Jay Shepherd, guitar and vocals; and CW Cox on electronic drums they nailed it. Since then Jay Shepherd took his masters in Guitar Performance here at ASU and then taught jazz guitar and bass on the faculty. He continues to teach in the western part of the state and at the Delta Jazz Workshop. Shane Chastain is a Youtube celebrity vlogging about music production. All three of these Arkansas musicians continue to play today.

So … Let’s listen to 3MG play some Journey.

My friend, Bob Corritore, is releasing some of his recordings From The Vaults that I will be featuring on Something Blue Saturday night. Last year at the King Biscuit Blues Festival he joined us on the last song of the Delta Legends set. Also on stage we had Rhode Island Red and Pinky Lee from the Emporium Orkestra jug band. We play true acoustic blues to the breakfast crowd every year at The Biscuit. Here we are now, Delta Legends and guests, playing a Blue Monday favorite, “Big Boss Man”.
