It snowed. It's snowing. It blowed. It's blowing. You know what? I'm getting tired of cold already. We are snug sitting by the fire under comforters. No worries. Wine quit working last week. Something Blue production today. Practice piano and vibraphone? (It's in a colder room.) Blow my nose a lot. Stay warm.

Getting ready for the winter storm. Pay my fees at Astate. Go to the maker space and laser print some game pieces. Visit a friend? (If he's home.) Keep the fire burning. Practice piano and vibraphone. Read, rest, and relax. (I have to schedule downtime or I never relax.)

It's been a busy day. Got all my sheet music printed for my lesson after a final listen through. Practiced my piece. Went to school early to take care of business. Had a great Jazz Improv lesson. Went to the Astate maker space called The Garage and talked to them about making pieces for my 10Print game. Joined northernlights on anonradio. We played "Seven Steps To Heaven" at small group rehearsal. Now I want to make the SVG file for my game pieces.

My day off. I went for groceries and cooked chili. I'm having a preproduction meeting with my son and grandkids for my first contact movie short. Practicing piano and vocals on "There Will Never Be Another You" for my lesson tomorrow. I fixed my 4 port KVM switch which wasn't actually broke. I need it working to continue with the Libre Indie Archive development so that's a big one. Actually trying to rest a bit. Praying for my friend Jackie.

Thanks Marty, today we’re going to hear an original jazz song recorded at HairyLarryLand.

Bebop Beatniks has always been a live band, playing several times a month at local venues. We have a ton of live shows on the internet at the Live Music Archive and we’ve released several albums, but only one studio album, “Leaves”.

And, of course, it’s a concept album featuring a reading from “Leaves Of Grass” by Walt Whitman, “Autumn Leaves”, a song by Paul Nunis called “At The Speed Of Love”, and three other original songs.

Today I’m going to feature a song by Sid Davis called “Sweatshirt” which quickly became one of our favorite jam tunes when playing live. It features an intro by Tyler Remagen on tenor sax and then it cooks all the way through. It’s a twelve bar blues which makes it great for improvisation.

Playing on the album are

Sid Davis – trumpet
Tyler Remagen – sax and flute
Emily Lindley – vibraphone
Alex Washam – drums and xylophone
Paul Nunis – bass and vocals
and
Hairy Larry – piano, vocals, and spoken word

All former students in the jazz program at ASU except for Paul who was on the faculty.
