Thanks Marty, it’s always great to be on Arkansas Roots where we hear so many great Arkansas musicians.
This week I picked a recording I made at The Edge Coffehouse on January 5, 2019, right here in Jonesboro. Alex Washam and I were rehearsing with Jeremiah Page for his Senior Recital and we decided to play a few gigs at The Edge to get what’s called the best rehearsal, paying your dues. Alex, on drums, took his masters in percussion performance. Jeremiah, on bass, graduated and went to graduate school on the East Coast. I’m on piano and we’re playing a John Coltrane song, “Blue Train”.

Tune in to Something Blue Saturday night at 10:00 to hear Kevin and Hell, The Grippe, and Paolo Pavan.

Thanks Marty, it’s always great to be on Arkansas Roots playing music From The Archives of Something Blue.
My friend, Bob Corritore, is releasing some of his recordings From The Vaults that I will be featuring on Something Blue Saturday night. Last year at the King Biscuit Blues Festival he joined us on the last song of the Delta Legends set. Also on stage we had Rhode Island Red and Pinky Lee from the Emporium Orkestra jug band. We play true acoustic blues to the breakfast crowd every year at The Biscuit. Here we are now, Delta Legends and guests, playing a Blue Monday favorite, “Big Boss Man”.

Gary Gazaway, from Pocahontas, has a fusion band called El Bujo with a contemporary jazz sound. On June 27, 2013, we were fortunate to have El Bujo play at a KASU Jazz Thursday show. I picked a song he wrote from that show from the archives. Here’s El Bujo now, playing “Monica”.
